Select Baseball Houston's "Team of the Month"

"Mizuno Team Houston" is a fully sponsored and funded team.  No detail is ever left unturned. I feel the boys that make the Mizuno Team Houston can learn the fundamentals of the game and baseball discipline without yelling at them. I will teach the game in full detail to them by working with them through repetition and positive encouragement. They will learn to pay attention and hustle. They will learn respect: respect of the game and respect of others. There will be no pouting, throwing of bats, helmets, or gloves. It will not be tolerated. I guarantee , it will be done to perfection. The correct way.

We include 3 different uniforms. (2 game and 1 practice) 2 different color hats. belts, socks, helmet, pants with piping down the side, a bat bag, red cleats, wristband, batting gloves, jacket pullovers etc.... all tournament entry fees will be fully covered by sponsor as well. (including the "Elite 24" and or World Series or Disney  trips we take) practice facilities and batting cages

The Mizuno Team Houston will be a championship caliber team. I will choose the best 11 from try-outs. It is not a neighborhood team or a little league get together team. This team will command full commitment from the parents and will be a tremendous amount of baseball. If this something you want your son involved with bring them to try-outs. If not, I completely understand. There are many little leagues and many other select teams out there for your son to play on.

In the fall, we will practice 1x during the week and 1x on Sunday afternoon. I will have the team either play in 3-4 tournaments in the fall and / or 2 tournaments and a Sunday game league if there is one available to play in.

In the spring , we will play between 13-17 tournaments including the super series or USSSA. world series and compete for the elite 24  and practice 2-3x a week. There might also be a Disney trip in store. We will play in 9u and/ or up in 10uaa.

There will be a lot to teach your boys about the new game of kid pitch baseball.

Pitching:

  1. how to pitch correctly stretch and wind up
  2. pick off moves
  3. covering first on bunts or plays at first
  4. covering position on bunts
  5. pitch-outs

Fielding:

  1. taking throws from pitcher and catcher at first base, second and third on pick offs and steals
  2. turning double plays correctly
  3. bunt coverage's
  4. 1st and 3rd situations
  5. relays from outfield
  6. Run downs

Catchers:

  1. blocking the ball
  2. framing the pitch
  3. bunt coverage's
  4. 1st and 3rd situations
  5. how to correctly block the plate
  6. throwing down to bases properly when there are steals
  7. pitch-outs
  8. pick offs at 1st, 2nd, and 3rd

Outfielders

  1. throw the ball in front of the runner
  2. throwing the ball to cut off man
  3. catching the fly ball coming into it and crow hopping
  4. going back on the ball

Hitting:

  1. learning signs
  2. bunting : what base towards depending on the runner or runners
  3. hit and run
  4. hitting to the right side with runners in scoring position
  5. fake bunt as a take to allow the runner to advance by stealing
  6. drag bunt
  7. sacrifice bunt
  8. suicide bunt squeeze play

Running:

  1. steals : when to go . what foot of the pitcher do you watch? whether left or right handed pitcher
  2. delayed steal
  3. 1st and 3rd situations
  4. tag ups
  5. stealing third base
  6. leads

and much, much, more. So you can see that it is much more of a game than just coach pitch.

I have been waiting to coach my son and his team at this level for awhile. I am passionate about the game and will give them my full effort.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call my cell at 832-473-4211 or email me at: coachmark@teammizunohouston.com
